Actual air speed indicator modified to be driven by a servo connected to the set of SSC's purchased to drive the servos. The 2 SSCs are connected togother and share the data and power cables. The standard 9volt battery clip was removed and connected to a Molex connector to take advanatage of standard PC power supplies I had lying around.
The internal workings of the airspeed indicator. The servo has replaced the brass bellows, a wire has been soldered to the arm that rested against the bellow and attached to the servo very close to the centre. I nearly wet myself when I realized that the 2 holes that secured the bellows where spaced exactly the same as the servos mounting holes. The result is functional, but unfortunately not very accurate as the copper wire tends to flex a bit causing the gauge to be out by as much as 30 knots.
The laptop is a P100 running Win98 with DevStudio 5 installed. It is my primary development machine at home. My main sim machine is a AMDK6-II 500, and my aux machines are 486DX machines. All running Win9x and MSFS98.
