Wow! After too many months, I finally finished another instrument last night (February 25, 2002). The following pictures show the attitude indicator that I have working now. The pictures are incomplete, but show the more interesting bits.

First I removed the gyro (which had basically seized up). Then I replaced the gyro with a hobby servo to control the pitch.

Next was bank. The back plate was removed and the shaft was removed. The mounting holes lined up with a servo horn, another hobby servo was mounted to control the bank.

The bank servo is bolted to a piece of plywood that is screwed onto the instrument housing. After many hours of beating my head against a wall, I managed to get the software up and running as well.
