These pages head off into topics and ideas not related to flying,
but are of interest to me.
Its that time again to Roll up the Rim to Win! - Feb 28, 2006
I have always wanted to play the odds on various games of chance/gambling
venues. Well, follow my journey as I spend $40 on coffee, $40 on the lottery
and pretend to spend $40 on the stock market.
Will I be hyper, rich or stressed?
Weather
I like to know what it's like outside. Some links to weather in
and around Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Track automotive expenses
CarCareSoftware
makes a really good program for tracking vehicle expenses, trips, etc.
I've used it now for over 3 years and really like it.
Comes in 2 flavors - desktop and PDA. I use them both - PDA to enter
data while on the road, and the desktop to run the reports needed for
income tax purposes.
Where's Willy?
I'm back! I have rediscovered this fun distraction - keep track of where
your hard earned cash goes! BTW, apparently scientists studying virus
outbreaks have used data from these currency tracking sites to simulate
a virus spread - presumably because the virus will hitch a ride on the
bills?
My profile
- see how well I'm doing...
New search engine
Spotted a new search engine. Thought it might be interesting to try.
Check out Mozdex Search Engine.
(yes I'm aware of the irony of using google ads and endorsing another
search engine with a link - do what you want...)
Great Hosting - less then $5 / month!
Email me. I can set you up for $75 (USD)
per year for awesome hosting. 500MB storage, 7+GB transfer, unlimited

I can help you with setting up a .ca name as well if you want.
Programming - updated 01/12/06
It is what I do. In my spare time I may (or may not) create little
hacks, programs, utilities to make my life easier. When I do, I may
(or may not) post them here. Have fun!
Wind Chill - usefull or fodder for media sensationalism
For example, winter has struck in southern Manitoba (11/15/05) with
a vengeance, and that brings along with it the absolutely ridiculous
practise of describing how cold it is in Sunny Manitoba via the
Wind Chill.
This meaningless number is a poor attempt to quantify the subjective.
Never a good idea.
I would love to go on, however, this page does a much more eloquent
job of describing the issues.
Other distractions that steal my time

Have your tape backups failed? Thanks to John Cleese for this great look into what happens when your backup fails...
My son is experimenting with his own website.
